Security has always been a top priority at Rustici Software. We know that when you trust us with your learning data, you are also trusting us with your peace of mind. We are proud to add another certification to that commitment, one that matters to our State and Federal customers. Rustici Software has officially achieved Level 2 certification under the Texas Risk and Authorization Management Program (TX-RAMP). Adding TX-RAMP Level 2 to our growing list of security credentials, alongside FedRAMP, GovCloud and StateRAMP via our government hosting partner, PowerTrain, ensures that government agencies at every level can meet their specific compliance needs while using the most trusted managed hosted products in the industry.
What is TX-RAMP Level 2?
For those who are not “security standard aficionados” like our technical team, TX-RAMP is a rigorous framework established by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR). It provides a standardized approach for security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring of cloud computing services that process data for Texas state agencies and higher education institutions.
While Level 1 is a great starting point, Level 2 is a much steeper mountain to climb. It is required for cloud services that handle “confidential or high-impact” information. Achieving this level means our systems have undergone a comprehensive audit to ensure they meet stringent security baselines, often categorized as “High” or “Moderate” impact levels.
Why this matters
For our customers in Texas state agencies and public universities, this certification is more than just a badge; it is a necessity. Texas government entities are now required to use TX-RAMP-certified cloud providers. By achieving Level 2, we are ensuring that our Texas friends can continue to use our SCORM Cloud, Rustici Engine and Content Controller products without a hitch in their procurement process.
But this is not just about Texas. The rigor required for TX-RAMP Level 2 closely mirrors the requirements of the federal FedRAMP standards. Because of this high bar, achieving TX-RAMP Level 2 should provide reciprocity across a number of other states that recognize similar security frameworks. Whether you are a state agency in Austin or a global corporation in New York City, this certification serves as a transparent, third-party validation that we take your data security seriously.
We’re confident about security
Achieving this was no small feat. It required a thoughtful, cross-team effort to document, test and verify the security controls that protect our ecosystem. While it is gratifying to see our hard work recognized, we remain humble. We know that security is not a “one and done” task; it is a continuous journey of innovation and monitoring.
We like to think of ourselves as the “reliable foundation” for your eLearning. If you are a Texas-based organization or simply someone who appreciates a well-secured cloud environment, we would love to chat about how our newly certified status can help your training goals.
