Content Management
Centrally manage your eLearning content across systems
Most government agencies use a wide variety of LMSs and training systems to meet the specific needs of each department. Whether you have inter-agency delivery requirements or intra-agency systems to support, managing courses across those systems can be a challenge. We offer solutions that allow you to host all of your eLearning courses on one server and share access to those courses across each and every learning system across or within your agency network. These solutions save you time on course administration – from content version control to tracking and reporting. As an added bonus, our content centralization tools support SCORM, xAPI and cmi5. If you have courses in one standard and a system that supports another, we can help bridge that gap in standards support across systems.
DoDI Compliance
Add SCORM and xAPI support to your distributed learning platform
Our military clients often require customized learning systems to meet their unique and rigorous training requirements. Whether it’s building a completely new platform or supplementing a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) LMS, the solution must comply with DoDI 1322.26, which requires any learning technology product used for DoD military and civilian personnel to support either the SCORM or xAPI standards for optimal compatibility.
Rustici Engine is a COTS, integrated content player that supports SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, cmi5 and AICC. Rustici Engine connects to other COTS learning systems via API calls and can sit behind a custom built LMS or integrate with a COTS LMS to provide the specific eLearning standards support to meet your requirements. It checks all of the boxes when it comes to following the Instruction. We offer three options for using our integrated content player: on-premise Rustici Engine in which your team hosts Engine on your servers, a managed hosting option in which our team hosts Rustici Engine for you while following your security protocols or the SaaS SCORM Cloud API.
SCORM 2004
Handle complex SCORM 2004 content requirements
If your content leverages all of the sophistication that SCORM 2004 supports (think global objectives, complicated branching, sequencing and navigation, and long-form interactions), then you need a SCORM player that truly supports the entirety of the SCORM 2004 standard, including SCORM 2004 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions. While many COTS LMSs claim SCORM 2004 support, not all of them are able to handle all of the complexities. Rustici Engine does just that and can be integrated into any system.
Learning Record Store
Implement xAPI and collect data from training activities outside of the LMS
Much of the training that happens for military learners and other government agencies occurs in the field, outside of the LMS environment. There is growing demand to capture this data using xAPI. Rustici LRS offers an on-premise LRS that conforms to the ADL xAPI LRS test suite and allows you to post and get xAPI statements from a variety of Learning Record Providers, including mobile applications and simulators. The Rustici LRS can also receive statements forwarded from other LRSs and can forward statements to your learning analytics platform or other learning system.
