There is a running joke around the office that we are going to need a bigger wall for all the awards. But honestly, we will never get tired of celebrating them because they represent the people who make this place what it is.

This year, we are incredibly proud to share that Rustici Software has been named one of the Nashville Business Journal’s Best Places to Work for the 17th year, alongside our fifth year on The Tennessean’s Top Workplaces list.

Seventeen years is a long time, especially considering our company is 24 years old. That means we have spent nearly three-quarters of our entire history being recognized as a premier workplace. Through office moves, industry shifts, a transition to hybrid/remote work and the rise of new technologies, the core values of Rustici have remained unchanged: We hire great people, treat them like adults and give them the space to do amazing work.

But how do you keep a workplace energized, creative and voted “best of” for nearly two decades? You do it by giving talented people hard, exciting problems to solve—without losing sight of what we value most—being excellent to each other and our customers.

Building on the core

Helping our customers leverage SCORM, xAPI and other standards to help make content and platforms play well together has always been core to what we do. When you add AI to the mix, there is a wealth of exciting next problems to solve for our customers.

Expect to see some new faces as we grow our teams to keep pace with the demand for AI-centric features and products. First up is the addition of TJ Seabrooks, who is rejoining us as our new CTO. Bringing TJ back to the team not only helps us fuel our product development efforts, but as the previous leader at Rustici, he understands our customers and is a fierce champion of our culture and how we work together. Lively debates have been had to determine where he fits on the ‘tenure ladder’. Debates aside, we’re thrilled to have him back. He and his team have some exciting plans for where we take our products next.

Expanding our products

Rustici Generator was our first product to lean into AI and LLM-enabled systems. And more are on the way. For our customers, you’ll get a sneak peek at what we have been cooking up at our upcoming annual virtual user conference, Rustici: The Gathering. If you’re a customer and haven’t yet signed up, RSVP here, and we’ll get you set up. We’ll also be sharing updates along the way as we fine-tune where and how our products adapt to new ways of approaching training and learning.

Culture is the constant

While the technology we build and the industries we serve will inevitably evolve, the way we treat each other is the bedrock that makes everything else possible. The foundation of being excellent to each other and our customers gives us the stability to innovate, and it remains the constant that allows us to tackle the next big challenge, together.

Tammy knew what SCORM was several years before joining Rustici Software, and she’s not even a standards geek. She’s the Managing Director and leads our company with a passionate commitment to caring for our people and customers. She’s also an Iron(wo)Man many times over.
