The gifts of 2023 added up quickly here at Rustici Software! In the spirit of the holidays, and as it’s my 12th year at Rustici, I’ll recap the highlights a la that familiar holiday tune. Sadly, no turtle doves, swans or geese made the list, but we did have a lot to celebrate. So without further ado, here are some of the gifts we enjoyed in 2023.

12 Speakers Speaking.
We talked a lot in 2023. Between Brian, Chris, Joe and I, we had the pleasure of leading 12 sessions at various industry conferences and events in 2023.
11 Months at 98+% Satisfaction.
We take customer service very seriously here and even have a measure that we call the Delight-O-Meter to track our progress. In 2023, 5 months feature 100% Joe Donnelly faces!
10 Years of xAPI.
It’s hard to believe it’s already been 10 years since xAPI became a specification. 2023 was also a big year for xAPI as xAPI 2.0 became an IEEE standard.
9 Decade+ Rusticians.
Our employee tenure is strong! We had to do a double count on this one. Nine Rusticians have been here at least 10 years.
8 Pedantic Postings.
Quite the shock that ‘pedantic’ was only used 8 times in Slack channels since we’re proud of being pedantic about the standards. Not to say we didn’t get more pedantic debating what qualifies as a soup or a sandwich – there were definitely more than 8 posts on those hot topics.
7 Customers a-Gathering.
During our annual user conference, Rustici: The Gathering, we had 7 client presentations where they shared their use cases and helpful tips and tricks for using our software.
6 Flickers a-Flicking.
Crokinole has become a game of choice around the office, and we have 6 die-hard competitors that find ways to wrangle a match on any given afternoon.
5 Associations Training.
In 2023 we welcomed 5 new associations as customers using our content distribution solutions to help them bring their training to their members.
4 New Faces.
We welcomed Ryan Shea, Noah Bond, Josh Darpino and Sean Moore to the team!
3 Awards Won.
We took home some hardware this year! Along with being awarded the #1 spot in The Tennessean’s Top Workplaces in Middle Tennessee, we also continued our Nashville Business Journals’ Best Places to Work streak for the 14th year and received a Best in Business finalist award
2 Rustici: The Gatherings.
This year marked our second annual user conference. Along with our client presentations, this 3-day event also featured multiple industry experts and 30+ Rusticians sharing their expert knowledge and even some hot chicken.
And 1 Incredible Team.
In 2023, we saw the team at Rustici grow to 52 amazing people and welcomed 50+ new customers.
As we head into the holidays and 2023 comes to a close, I’m thankful that I get to work with a group of people who not only do great work but find ways to make it fun. And I’m grateful to our customers who trust us to help them solve hard problems.
