Here’s an old Hollywood rule: A sequel is never as good as the original. But every once in a while, a story comes along that defies all expectations and is even better the second time around. This is one of those stories.
We’re thrilled to announce that our customer, LOMA, has won a second consecutive gold Brandon Hall Group™ HCM Excellence Awards® for their Industry Advantage program, once again in the Best Association Professional Development Program category. We’re proud to have been the technology partner in this sequel, with our Content Controller software helping to make the program’s distribution a blockbuster success.

Act I: The storyboard
The first award was a testament to LOMA’s vision to address the needs of modern learners with a microlearning program. Bringing the program to life involved thoughtful testing and development with an advisory board of 10 L&D leaders from LOMA member companies. They provided input on everything from content and format to the program’s name. They even completed user acceptance testing and were trial users of the program before its broad launch. This dedication to a superior product is what separates the classics from the one-hit wonders.
Act II: The special effects
A great sequel needs great effects. For LOMA, the key was the seamless delivery of their content. The goal was to distribute their courses directly to each member company’s learning management system (LMS). This is where Rustici Software’s Content Controller came in, acting as the behind-the-scenes technology that made it all possible. With Content Controller, LOMA manages each company’s access and pushes out new versions of existing courses without any interaction from the subscribing companies. They also provide a thoughtful “starter pack” onboarding process that helps ensure a smooth launch for every new customer. It’s the kind of technical wizardry that makes the audience say, “Wow.”
Act III: The box office numbers
The real proof of a sequel’s success is in the numbers. LOMA’s Industry Advantage is a critical and commercial hit. As of February 2025, the program had over 45,935 course completions, a clear indicator of strong viewer engagement. A Net Promoter Score of 55 and an average course rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars shows that audiences love what they’re seeing.
For one subscribing company, the program was a game-changer. By replacing an instructor-led training with Industry Advantage courses for foundational content, they reduced their training time from eight to six weeks. The time it took for new hires to reach proficiency was cut in half, from six months to three months. That’s the kind of performance that earns a standing ovation.
The franchise continues
Now in its second year, the Industry Advantage franchise is just getting started. LOMA is already planning for future installments, with a roadmap that includes digital badging for learning path completion and bilingual content for program expansion into Canada.
We at Rustici Software are honored to have partnered on this award-winning sequel, demonstrating our mission to solve problems in the simplest and most delightful way possible.
