When I joined Rustici Software in 2011, I came here because of Mike Rustici and Tim Martin. I saw a growing business that operated in a way different than any other I had seen before. They created a working environment founded on the idea that supporting people—our customers, our people and the eLearning community—is the most important work. As I take on the new role of Managing Director for Rustici Software, I bear a huge responsibility to continue this ethos. This is also bittersweet as I have truly enjoyed and learned so much working alongside TJ over the past few years and will miss his guidance and perspective tremendously.
For almost a decade now, I have spent the majority of my time working with our customers to understand how our software helps their business and that insight has helped inspire us to consider how we evolve and improve our products. I have learned many things along the way, but most importantly, how you treat people matters—a lot. This shows up at Rustici in many ways. We provide the space and freedom for our people to do great work. We treat those that come to us with empathy and expertise. We’re available and ready to offer support to our customers and take seriously our standing offer to help anyone that comes to us with a question. Often this support extends well past our customers to anyone that finds their way to us needing help with SCORM or xAPI. We are focused on improving and evolving our products and software to keep pace with the changing learning technology environments and demands of our customers.
So I come into this new role with a focus on protecting the things that make Rustici Software special to ensure that this level of support, and how we operate, continues. I was lucky enough to find my way here and learn from Mike, Tim and TJ on how to successfully run a business- but more importantly, lead and inspire people. I look forward to keeping it going.
