It’s a season of change. People are working from home; kids are attending their first days of kindergarten from their living rooms; remote is the new norm; neighborhood shops are shutting down… and I’m leaving Rustici Software.

Even weeks after making the decision, it’s unbelievably hard to put those words to paper.

Rustici Software has been the best professional experience of my life somehow being both a great place to work and a great place to be. While ultimately a side effect of the people, it’s the values shared by the people that make it possible; a fanatical focus on employee and customer well-being above all else coupled with a willingness to do hard work.

I marvel at the organization we’ve all built together over the years. I’m impressed at the work we’ve accomplished, the people we’ve brought into the fold, and that we all still share the same values. Those values that represent Rustici Software so well. Those values that Tammy Rutherford, the new Rustici Software Managing Director, possesses in spades. She’s simply one of the hardest working most people-centric leaders I’ve ever met.

“The people I love the best
jump into work head first…”

– To be of use, Marge Piercy

As I made the decision to leave Rustici Software and take on a new set of challenges as the Chief Technology Officer of PeopleFluent, another Learning Technologies Group company, I struggled knowing I’d miss the people I’d worked with for so long and the place I helped build. Thankfully, knowing that Tammy will lead Rustici going forward leaves me both feeling confident in the future of Rustici Software and thankful I can pursue new challenges knowing Rustici Software is in good hands.

TJ is the Chief Technology Officer at PeopleFluent, another Learning Technologies Group company, though he used to be CEO here at Rustici Software. He is passionate, expressive and has the most distinctive laugh you’ll ever hear.
