America’s Credit Unions saves time, improves tracking and delivers training with Content Controller

America’s Credit Unions is the national trade association for credit unions in the United States. They are committed to putting their member credit unions first, providing regulatory compliance training and other educational services. By offering exceptional services to credit unions, their member organizations help Americans achieve and afford their best financial lives.

The challenge

For over a decade, America’s Credit Unions used an FTP site to distribute compliance training to their members. This method didn’t have crucial intellectual property protection and made it impossible to accurately track usage. In addition, credit unions had to manually download updated course versions and then upload the new course packages into their own LMSs, leading to some having outdated content and significant efficiency burdens for their unions’ LMS administrators.

America’s Credit Unions needed a more robust solution to protect their content, gain insights into usage and simplify content management for their members.

The solution

America’s Credit Unions were already familiar with SCORM Cloud for content testing, so reaching out to see if Content Controller would meet their needs was a natural choice. With Content Controller, they would be able to easily distribute compliance training into their members’ preferred LMSs (regardless of the eLearning standard required), reduce the support burdens for their members’ training administrators, maintain control over their intellectual property, and understand how their members are using their content.

The implementation involved internal planning to define settings and processes in order to ensure a smooth transition for their credit unions, and the participating members saw immediate benefits to the new workflow after implementation.

Content Controller provided America’s Credit Unions with greater control over their learning materials. They can now retire courses and push updated versions automatically, ensuring their credit unions always have access to the latest compliance information.

Improved usage tracking and reporting
The reporting features in Content Controller allow America’s Credit Unions to monitor how their members are using their content library, including reporting on course utilization across all members to more detailed learner level transcripts. These insights help them adjust contracts based on actual learner numbers, a capability missing with their previous FTP-based system.

Content Portal in Content Controller enables their credit union trainers to self-service, so they can easily access and manage their content. It also saves America’s Credit Unions’ teams time by removing an obstructive process to sharing with a secure portal connected to their content library.

• Ability to use different standards in the future, like xAPI and cmi5, and avoid compatibility issues for their credit unions.
• America’s Credit Unions has already hit 15,000 unique learners across all their members with Content Controller and is likely to grow even more.
