What are the technical details?

The reporting extension is API driven and comes in a few options. To utilize the Rustici Engine reporting extension, you’ll need to be on the Rustici Engine 2019.1 release.

  • Customized reports

If you’re looking to enhance your existing LMS reports, this is the way to go. This method returns data from your Engine database as CSV or JSON that you can pass to your charting or visualization tool of choice. Now you can easily pull in data from any content handled by Rustici Engine, giving you more control on how the data is displayed to match your existing dashboards.

  • Built-in iframes

For a more turnkey approach, you can generate on-demand reports shared within your application as an iframe. Using the report builder API calls, simply select the data you want to use to build the report, the report type (e.g. chart, table, etc.) and apply any styling you wish. This provides some manipulation without all the technical setup or the need of an additional reporting tool.
